Thanks for pointing that out. I can see how I could get carried away. Before I close that zipper I ask myself, "Is there anything in here you can live without?" I don't like schlepping luggage that weighs a ton.
We always travel solely with a carry-on (we did four weeks in Italy with a carry-on) However I DO like the idea of making more room for new things to take home. I'm not so much a foodie as I am a clothes horse. That's why I always bring a feather weight nylon small duffle to haul home the inevitable shoes, purse, and/or clothes that I'm going to find.
Thanks kswl also for taking the time to explain the difference between the vacuum bags and ziplocks. I'm definitely going to grab a couple of those vacuum bags. I think I may have seen them at Bed Bath and Beyond.
I'm glad that those who enjoyed the videos posted to say so. It sends the thread to the top for more fellow travelers to enjoy. I can see why the "hockey sticks" thing would not cause interest in opening it. Oh well, live and learn. I should have said something like "Best 3 minute travel videos ever!"
BTW allison, did you know that there are two videos? One for both 2005 and 2006.

I saw this today on youtube.com.
It's someones video response to the "Where the Hell is Matt" video. It's cute, but I don't think "laartista" will be quite as enamored with this guy

ha ha ha laartista.....see how well I know you?!
BTW, when you posted your Paris to Rome trip report a while back, I read it all and loved it. Come to think of it, it actually feels like I DO know you a little. That's one of the things that makes this Fodors board fun.
