Where should I go on my Honeymoon?

We took a Windstar Cruise (www.windstarcruises.com) from Rome to Nice. Stops included St. Tropez, Portofino, Monaco and several more. It was the right mix of relaxation and grand site seeing for a honeymoon. It was quite expensive but worth every dime. Windstar Cruises are smaller (only 300 aboard) and so they can go to the small ports that many other big ships cannot. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me. My husband and I often think about our magical honeymoon when we are having bads days at work! By the way, we went June 17 - and the weather was AMAZING. To fill out our week cruise we started with 5 days in Rome and several days in Nice to finish up - which ended up to be a little over 2 weeks.

Italy is my choice. But far more specifically, a week in the Sorrento area and a week in Venice. You can train between the two, but its a long trip.

Sorrento itself is a bit noisy and the beaches are out of the town itself. Past sorrento is Massa Lubrense. We ahve not been there yet but my Neopolitan friens say it is the palce where they go to get away from it all. Here is a great web site for Massa:

http://www.massalubrense.it/Ehome.htm

You can also go to Positano or anywhere along the Amalfitana. Sorrento has great restaurants like La Vela Bianca where the seafood is incredible. Massa has several fishing villages and the food is cheaper then in Sorrento. Plus you are close to Napoli, Pompeii, Herculano, Oplontis where you can go to museums and archeological sights.

Vebice is so romantic. I have many posts here on Venice so you can search on my name and get some ideas of what to do. The best thing to do in Venice is just to wander and get lost. There is super food in the form of endless wine bars where you order Chichetti and an Ombra (little plates of food displayed on the bar Tapas style and small glasses of wine.
