Hello all,
what a fabulous thread!! I now know a bit more about the names I see so frequently on this board.
Born: Perth Western Australia, Australia
Now Living: Perth Western Australia
But have lived in most states of Australia, and also in New Guinea (previously an Australian Protectorate). Also done the obligatory overseas migrations to England and Europe (sometimes known as the 'Vegemite Tour').
I agree with PaulS, no matter where I travel, my heart remains here in Oz. Today the temp is 27 degrees C, and tomorrow and over the weekend it will be in the low to mid 30's - this really is the begining of the Australian summer.
Cheers to all in the northern climates

Hello, Bonjoir, Salaam....(ok thats all i know sorry!!)
I was born in Halifax, West Yorkshire, UK. Its 45mins drive away from Manchester (the northern capital) and 15mins away from Leeds, which is becoming quite a popular city. My village is quiet but nice with lots of green fields and sheep!! The town I go through times of loving it, mostly when my friends come home and hating it, when i'm bored! Would love to live in Dubai-want to go out there to work and live before i do something mad like settledown! I pretend I live in Paris or when I buy new shoes New York.

I was born in San Francisco, lived there til I was 10, now live in Sonoma county CA (wine country area), about 40 miles north of SF
(still love the city, so many memories)
I am an auto dealership Finance Director, so I work loooooooooong hours,
(12 + per day), so that may explain why I am so into my vacation times, which, unlike many of my coworkers, I religiously take every may and october.

Cig, there are two copycat kind of threads. As much as I like you I think all three should be deleted because they are non travel and some the regulars have been banned because of others griping about non travel and too chatty threads. Maybe the new posters will chime in to raise this to the limit so the last one will get a thrill.

I was born in Chicago, IL, and have lived in many places, including Europe and the Mid-East. I now live in Anacortes, WA, the "Gateway to the San Juan Islands". One takes the ferry from our town to the islands. Our house is on the Guemes Channel, and one can see the ski resort behind Vancouver, B.C., from our window in clear weather.

I was born in Iran and lived there for 14 years before my family moved to England and then to the beautiful southern California, U.S.A. I love it here but I also take my children to visit Iran once a year during summer. Iran is a beautiful country with rich culture and very warm people. I usually travel to the cities close to the Caspian Sea and away from all the madness of politics and government in Tehran. Hopefully, in the near future with the change of goverment more people from around the world will travel to Iran and explore this country, my Iran.
