Actully that Arthur or Martha phrase is one that is really used (as opposed to say "I'm as dry as a dead dingo's donger", which is more of a Mick Dundee phrase). We have lots like that - I like "I'm flat out like a lizard drinking"

Hi Mimi,
I was born and grew up in São Paulo, São Paulo-Brazil, but when I was 17 I went to Decatur, Illinois as an AFS-exchange student. I married an American from Decatur and then lived in Sumter, S.Carolina, and back to Illinois: Decatur, Edwardsville, Bloomington-Normal. Moved to Boston in the 70's to go to graduate school, then back to Brazil - to Salvador, Bahia, more precisely, where I have lived since 1980, with two other two-years stays in the Boston area, the last time in GLoucester (1995-1996).
I love Salvador da Bahia!

Born and reared in beautiful north Donegal in Ireland. Still live there, no intention of living anywhere else. All you posters don't know what you are missing - everyone seems to want to go to Dingle or Killarney! You need to see Malin Head, the most northerly point in Ireland.

I was born and (mostly) raised in San Jose, California. I live in Rochester, Minnesota.
I've travelled to Jamaica, France, UK, Austria, Italy (very briefly), and China. My next trip is to Ireland this fall and hopefully the Czech Republic in 2007.
