Just curious. I wonder if people who live in Florence come to the US and look for pictures of the David to stare at?

The question is: Are there places there that shows American TV shows. Are there bars or restaurants that has satellite feed so that we won't miss American Idol suring the week that we're there?

We were in Europe for the NHL playoffs last year, and my hubby, a crazy hockey fan, didnt even think twice about missing them.

I didnt see any American stations while I was there.

To add to that thought--even if you do find a place to watch it in Florence, still tape it at home. That way, if you're not in the mood to watch it in Italy, you can still see it when it will matter more to you.

I'd be very surprised if you were able to find this program being shown in Florence.

Your hotel is likely to have one or two English language channels, if it has satellite TV. There will be BBC News, game shows, syndicated sitcoms, and perhaps some other British programming. I believe there are several similar shows produced in England which might be shown, and it's my understanding that the talent is superior.

Bars show major sporting events or important breaking news. Even in the US, American Idol qualifies as neither.

you might try the show's website -- otherwise copyright law probably prohibits anyone else from posting what you are looking for. You'll have to choose -- a TV addiction (which I admit I find to be fun entertainment) or a travel addiction. I'll take Florence in a flash. You can probably have someone email you the results if you REALLY have to know.

Results are important, but not not that important to me. I can dig that out of the internet after they are announced the following day.

It's really all about the performaces and the suspenpenseful anticipation of how the judges, Cowell in particular, reacts to them.

Please tell me that you can find something else to do with your time while in Florence.

Margie: We have a lot of things lined up to do while in Florence. This is only 2 hours of our total time which will detract from what we want to accomplish while in Florence.

sorry - but I can't bring my self to even watch the previews of that lame show, let alone waste 2 hours of time with it in such a beautiful city! Maybe if you are lucky they will be showing survivor and fear factor too!

I'm not one to argue the merits or lamenss of these shows. But, to each his/her own. Fyi, I also don't care much for the others (e.g. Joe Millionnaire or it's 30 other clone spin-offs).
