Hi Everyone: Great thread - I am in my office at Jacksonville, Florida and if you look out the window you will see sunshine, tree fronds whipping around in the breeze, gorgeous blue skies. It is a gorgeous day if I may say so! In the 80s and I just got back from having a cup of chicken with wild rice soup and an iced latte at Barnes and Nobles around the corner and a nice chat with a friend and bought a new book.

I'm in midtown Atlanta in a law firm; just waiting for 5:30. Really splurged and had a grilled cheese sandwich for lunch. Weather is partly cloudy and pleasant, but I'm so ready for cold weather. I'm totally envious of all of you who get to hang out in your home offices with your dogs all day!

I'm at home in Long Beach Ca looking out on my freshly mowed lawn and switching between my computers. Warm tody, in the 70's. Was in the 90's a few days ago. About ready to make lunch. My company shutdown the end of July. Since I already had most of my trip paid for, I held off looking until this week. Another dot.com becoming a dot.gone. Fortunatly, I've still got my weekend/evening teaching so not all is lost.
Regards,
Art
I am in San Antonio, Texas and it is 2:50 p.m. Barbara, TexMex food is Mexican food with a Texas twist. Plenty of mexican spices are used as well as barbecue and other "Texas things"am talking about flour and corn tortillas, fajitas strips or grilled beaf seasoned with mexican spices, spicy salsa and served with bits of grill bell pepper and onion. The bell pepper and onion is a "Texas thing". Forgot to mention tacos, the real thing not the taco bell crap. My mouth is getting watery.

At home, in Columbus, Ohio, where it's mid 70's - - about 10 degrees down from earlier this week - - and going to fall a good bit more, starting this weekend.

As for eating today, I came home this afternoon to our shipment of the month from Harry and David - - white sapotes, which I have never eaten before. I think they must need to do a little further ripening!

Best wishes,

Rex
I'm in our home in a beautiful small town in Alabama--it is sunny and in the 80s, but the wind is blowing in a cold front and tonight we will have rain. The leaves from all our big old oak trees are beginning to fall and blow in the breeze--lovely! There's nothing like a hint of fall after a hot Alabama summer!

I had a ham sandwich for lunch, but pretended it was a croque monsieur.

I'm writing from beautiful central Pa. near Harrisburg. The temp is 80, sunny, kids are playing ball in the street. I just returned from a long lunch with my friend who is visiting from NYC, making plans on what to do when we return to the Big Apple in Nov. Judy

Hello, everyone!
I just arrived at my home in a suburb about 30 miles north of Boston, MA. and 10 miles from the NH border. I am sipping a glass of chardonnay while I check email, Fodor's, etc. before I start to prepare dinner. It is an absolutely gorgeous 80 degree day here!
I just wanted to say that this has been one of the nicest threads that I have read on this board in a long time, if ever. It really made me smile (and we need alot of that here right now) and just plain made me feel good.

Thanks, everyone, for contributing to this even though it has nothing to do with travel. I think alot of us needed it.

Robin I keep thinking if the axe drops on me I might move out west I am dreaming of Montana or the like or further? Recents eventys are making me think Hawaii or New Zealand just want to be where it is peaceful. But where there are jobs also sometimes a tall order. Nevertheless, You can totally recreate yourself or just find a better path in the same direction.
