Your itinerary looks great, I would just add St.Petersburg on the list for at least three nights.

Ha ha! I briefly considered just this, but I think we're already trying to do a LOT in a short time.

I would recommend doing a west coast route where you'd start from Copenhagen in the south, then make your way up the Swedish west coast to Gothenburg, and finally Oslo. Each city is around 3 hours apart.
I think that's a very nice succession of city trips and they make perfect sense since they're basically along a straight line from south to north and quite close together.

I think your trip is shaping up to be excellent. Very glad to see you do the overnight ferry from Stockholm to Helsinki. Our experience with that was delightful and quite different than what others mentioned about too much drinking. We found it all exceptionally child friendly with lots of entertainment focused on children (basket ball players on stilts even) that gave the whole experience a very family-like vibe. Even though we weren't traveling with kids, we found it delightful.

The thread is more than a year old so I'm sure the trip is on the back burner . . .

Wondering if we should perhaps add a day in Helsinki (adding a day to the overall trip) to not be too rushed there.
When are you planning this? If it's this year: there are disparities between Nordic countries in how they approached the pandemic: Sweden opted for herd immunity and is in worse shape than Norway and Finland: There are border closures between Norway and Sweden, because people travelling from Sweden into Norway and back are a risk, especially up north. https://www.newsinenglish.no/2021/02...orders-closed/
