Flonase (prescription steroidal nasal spray) saved the day (as well as my marriage), when nothing else would.

This actually works: two years ago my husband were taking a long-awaited trip through Vermont/NH. After a horrible first night, we stopped at Wal-Mart and bought a big cheap box fan. Every night I propped it on a chair VERY close to my side of the bed (as close to my ear as possible). Two years later that fan still sits on a chair on my side of the bed. Summer - it blows across us; winter, I turn it the other way around. We're going to Europe soon and I'm so worried we won't be able to find a box fan to drag along in our rental car! While the fan isn't what has kept us together, it has allowed us to continue to share a bed once again. Before the fan, we merely slept (and I mean slept) in separate bedrooms. It frustrates me when folks think SLEEPING in separate bedrooms somehow means your marriage is in trouble. It means you both wake rested. Period.

SnoreStop contains belladonna, arsenicum, and ephedra. Even though the company says those ingredients have been safely diluted, I would not take want to take the chance.

Dear HappilyMarried:
I too, am a fan junkie! For years I had an ugly box fan near the bed to create noise as well as move the air; my dear husband installed a nice ceiling fan in our bedroom so I could get my fan fix without the ugly box. Well--he bought such a good fan, that it makes no noise!! Now, I'm using a little 8" tabletop model. For trips, I use a small fan bought at Brookstone. It runs on batteries or can be plugged into a wall outlet. It really helps, particularly when the snoring is loud or there is noise near our room. It has also saved the day in a few stuffy rooms. I packed very lightly for my recent Italy trip, but the fan was a must!

Okay, brutal honesty here. I snore. Loudly. And it's allergy-related, which means that "snore-stop" wouldn't work for me. Breathe-Right strips don't work. Position makes no difference, and my having to wear an oral splint doesn't help. Last year in Portugal I ended up getting my own hotel room in our second week, and we were BOTH much happier campers! Now we budget for a 2-bedroom accommodation when we travel.
ja

This works for me: I just say "please stop snoring" - my husband grunts, turns over, and stops snoring (at least long enough for me to get to sleep). He never remembers this, so I'm pretty sure I don't wake him.
