Gail - I just got an email back from them a couple days ago, offering me about 6 different tours for the week leading up to Easter - I guess business isn't too busy at the moment for them. I have been trying to decide whether to do the tours or not, and think (after re-reading this thread) that I will!

I would fill out their form online and see what they offer you...it doesn't hurt to ask!

I just signed up for the Roma Antica tour and the email confirmation says that a tip is appreciated for the tour guide. What would be the going rate for this? Thanks!

Hi. We just got back from our trip to Italy and we did Roma Antica and Arte Vaticana (and the orientation stroll) with Scala Reale. They were wonderful! As for tip, we gave our guide 5 euros per person. Have a wonderful time!

Hi Iregeo ... I will be doing the exact same tours you did on 2 different days with SR soon and I'm wondering how you derive the EUR 5 for tips? Is it according to your preference or is there some standard tipping? Does it mean that I have to tip twice (since I suppose it will be 2 different guides)? Thanks...

Iregeo - Sorry...I realised after posting the earlier msg that you did mention it was EUR 5 per person...

Yes, each day, each tour guide, we gave 5 euro per person in my family. I don't know if this is appropriate or not. It's just what we did. Have a great trip!
