Maybe his humor was lost in translation. Marvelousmouse refers to his moronic posts. I for one did not appreciate him calling me a "moron".

I think he needs a break. Nobody forces him to answer questions. He seemed to find it a real chore. The people who lost out where the novices who show up here with questions and either get bad info or insults.

I read more than I post in this forum, and with the exception of one poster, I have always found the name changes that some affect with regularity to be very confusing. Regardless of language, something is always lost in translation before I figure it out the 'voice'.

Lots of people have either taken breaks or left over the years, some return, some don't, some are missed, some not. Announcing one's departure seems like a bid for drama that some here--like the OP, who is only stirring the pot--enjoy.

>>Announcing one's departure seems like a bid for drama that some here<<

Amen.

>>Whathello is not a troll.<<

Maybe not. But I'm not sure what you call someone whose singular response is to berate an OP's grammatical errors(s) or who drags out tired anti-America-isms.

Oh, wait. I know the word. It's as... Never mind.

His posts are a mix of useful information (especially about hotels and restaurants in Paris) given in an amusing style, and hostile rants. It seems as though his own anger drove him off the boards, as, again, in my observation, frequent flyers on the Europe board took him in stride. I'm sure he will be back.

Of course he'll be back. He's addicted and no other board will tolerate his behavior.

"like the OP, who is only stirring the pot"

I thought that threads directed at specific members were not allowed in the TOS. Some people are too selfish to care about the TOS. They do what they want for their own entertainment. Revealing and transparent.

I left once in disgust, deleted my account and know no one noticed. I don't even remember what my name was. This seems to be something else. I, for one, can use the rest. Until next time.

Since the exit announcement was made in Forums Help (a branch few people read) I thought the Europe board posters might be mildly interested in this. No "pot stirring" involved.

Of course denial. Nothing new here. Totally predictable. I don't recall a need to bring focus to all the other previous tantrums and exits, especially on the Europe board. No "pot stir?" Sure. I almost believe that. Total disrespect for the board.

He did say on at least one other thread that the post on the Help board would be his last.

I'm sure he is reading this thread with great interest and basking in the "love".

Belinda, you recommended a restaurant with truffles in Paris. I can't find the thread. Could you tell me the name? TIA

Truffes Folie 7eme. Book on thefork.com and you can usually get up to a 50% discount.

I think they just opened a second one on rue de Berri in the 8eme.

Have the oeuf cocotte a la truffe noir.. ooh la la!
