What type of train tickets?

We will be in Brussels first week of May for eight nights. Thinking about day trips to Paris, Amsterdam, Brugge, maybe some other Belgium towns. I have seen some posts that travel within Belgium is inexpensive. There are tickets that allow travel between three or four countrys in a months time. These are a little costly. Does anyone have any suggestions. Thanks!

Maybe you're thinking of the Benelux railpass for travel throughout Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg. There's also a France pass, but if the only place you're going in France is Paris, it's way more than you should spend.

Go to thalys.com and look for smilys fares. budgeteuropetravel.com are the real experts on this stuff.

You are not making long enough trips to make a pass economical. Point-to-point is the answer.

You can compare point-to-point vs. various passes at www.raileurope.com

Let me know if I can answer any other questions for you.

Cheers,

For train travels within Belgium, there are 2 cheap options.
On weekends, return tickets are 50% off.
You can also buy a Go Pass (-26) or Rail Pass (+26) which allows you to make 10 individual journeys in Belgium for 45, resp 65 euro. More than 1 person can use the same pass.
If you're +65 you can buy return tickets for 4 euro ! Only condition is that you travel after 9am on weekdays.
