A couple of questions for any of you who are reading along...

1. Just who is this mysterious Monsieur Habib?

2. Any ideas as to what I might do with my remaining few hours in Paris? My flight leaves at 1:50, so I've got the morning yet to spend on whatever I care to do.

3. Just exactly how much stuff did I buy? And how did I get it home?

My guesses

"1. Just who is this mysterious Monsieur Habib? " The man who owns the local camera shop?

2. Any ideas as to what I might do with my remaining few hours in Paris? My flight leaves at 1:50, so I've got the morning yet to spend on whatever I care to do. " Packing?

"3. Just exactly how much stuff did I buy? And how did I get it home?" Not sure on the amount, but I am betting on a good amount espeically in the tolietry department. As for how a quote from earlier in the report "I'll check the original bag and carry-on a separate one (that I'd packed flat in my carry-on for the outbound flat, though sometimes I just use a shopping bag). "

I'll wait to address questions #1 and *3, but the answer to #2 is not "packing". Yes, I did pack that morning, but after I'd returned from the the thing that I really wanted to do.

Hint: If you look back over the sites that I did manage to visit (in spite of being the "worst tourist in the world&quot you'll notice that one of them is missing. A big one.

Ah, well, no guesses. Too easy, actually, as of course the big site I've not visited is the Tour Eiffel. So on Friday AM I request a wake-up call (the only one of this trip, though I did set an alarm the morning of my return trip to Paris from Normandy) for 6:00 AM, throw on warm clothes, and head out to catch a glimpse of the old girl as the sun rises. Because it's still pretty dark and deserted out on the streets of Paris, the hotel concierge urges me to take the metro instead of walk, and I take his advice, taking the RER to President Kennedy and walking from there. Lovely photos of the tour in the early morning mist, just me and the street sweepers. A brisk 20 minute walk home to Porte Maillot through a still-sleepy Paris, in plenty of time to shower and pack, and then meet with the mysterious M. Habib.
