what to visit on the way from Strasbourg to Paris

Hi

We are planning our trip now with no experience. We are planning on visiting Strasbourg on the way to Paris.
I am planning to spend in Strasbourg 2 days and then go somewhere else, but I am not sure what would be the best choice(we have one more day to spare)

Thank you very much in advance

Spend another day touring the wine villages near Strasbourg.

How about Metz/Nancy?

No experience is no excuse for no map. The obvious choices are Metz and Reims and possibly Nancy and St-Dizier.

Nancy is particularly nice if you like Art Nouveau.

Another vote for Nancy! Besides being the home of French Art Nouveau it has the gorgeous 18th century Place Stanislas - and it's easy by train. See http://www.fodors.com/community/euro...omment-5666981 and don't miss my recommendation for http://www.hoteldesprelats.com/english/index.html

Train schedules: http://www.bahn.de/i/view/GBR/en/index.shtml

I spent two full days in Nancy, I would recommend at least most of one.

If you have a car, it is a great year to visit the battlefields of Verdun.

There is a high speed train from Strasbourg to Paris - not sure where it stops - if you must do this in one day and by train.

If you have more time there are many options depending on your interests.

The train from Strasbourg to Paris doesn't stop.

"The train from Strasbourg to Paris doesn't stop."

What a misleading statement. The TGV from Strasbourg to Paris does not stop. But there is a regional express from Strasbourg to Nancy (90 minutes) and a TGV from Nancy to Paris (another 90 minutes).
