What to do with extra night - Venice or another town?

Thank you all for all your recommendations. As most of you suggested, I think we will probably stay in Venice one more night and then in Lucca the night before our flight.
BTW, we have been to Pisa to see the tower and the Piazza di Miracoli. We had a romantic picnic lunch and a bottle of wine right there on the lawn in front of the tower on our plane blanket.
We thought it was beautiful and we had a wonderful time. We also thought walking through the town from the train station to the tower was very nice. It was very quaint and very enjoyable.

People planning a future trip to Pisa should know that walking on the grass and picnicking on the lawn of the Campo dei Miracoli, in front of the tower, is actually illegal, and there are signs now in both Italian and English telling people to keep off the lawn. While many tourists do it, the local police do sometimes come by and move everyone off the lawn.
