Or from Lauterbrunnen on a grim day day trip to Lucerne.
Nothing beats the atmosphere of staying right up in dem hills - awesome views from your hotel balcony.
Lucerne is nice but is not in the high Alps though you can see them looming miles away from there.
Chances are the weather will be fine as charts show - and moving around with a toddler is not always fun - better to base in the area you really want to visit.
