I got married in Copenhagen in march and my hubby bought a case of danish vodka. We already live in europe and he thougth the price was good, not as good as the case of lemoncello from Positano though...I did buy some little trinkets and a beautiful irish sweater that was on sale. As far as the locals go fur is very popular and not cheap rabbit fur coats but absolutely gorgeous fabulous furs...don't grip about furs to me I wasn't wearing one!!

Just like Jade said, in Helsinki check the tableware and glass. Best places are in the Esplanade (park street near the market place). Also Kalevala Koru jewellery. They are gold/silver/bronze jewellery made after ancient models. Often they have some symbol on the Finns old pagan religion (moose head, snake, bear and so on).

Hey Alina,

Lightweight & cheap things I always stock up on: candles and napkins. Sounds silly, but northern Europeans really know how to dress a tabletop - you'll have special meals for the year to come.

You'll love Stroget in Kobenhavn!

HTH!

Toikka birds. They are modern art glass bird sculptures found at good art glass, tableware and designer stores throughout Scandinavia.
Scan Pans. A high quality line of cookware. A little heavy, though.
Bed linens (Marimekko and other designers).
Anything by Georg Jensen

In Norway: A 100g bar of 'Freia Melkesjokolade', the milk chocolate that melts on your tongue (has to be this brand, not the Swedish Marabou). I miss it when I'm gone and love it when I'm back. If you like smoked salmon, thats another good Idea in Norway, if buying it in Sweden its probably Norwegian anyway.
