Vans are never cheap, but I usually get the best price from AutoEurope (www.autoeurope.com - 1-800-223-5555). I rented a Renault Espace for 10 days last year for $700, insurance included, to give you some idea of cost.

A sedan will never hold all 5 plus luggage - you definitely need a van of some type.

(We did one trip with 4 adults - and rented a full-size Mercedes - the biggest car we could find - and still had to pack most of the luggage in a roof carrier. I don;t understand why a full-size european sedan just won;t hold as much luggage as my Japanese sub-compact - but that's a discussion for another board.)

Check out the Renault Scenic; we've used it twice and thought it worked very well. It seats five very comfortably. We're renting one again next month, through AutoEurope--very good price.

Hi jr,

Yuo will get better prices from http://www.auto-europe.co.uk/ than from their US site - http://www.autoeurope.com/

Also try http://www.novarentacar.com/
