Autumn
Temperatures in Florence start to decrease in autumn, October and November, and stand at 22 ºC and at mid teens in the following month. November is the wettest month of the season when Florence receives around 120mm of precipitation. Moreover, during this time the city gets only five hours of sunshine per day.
Averages are just that - you can't trust that those will be the numbers you'll encounter.

We were in both cities 2 years ago in mid Oct. don't remember exact temps, but most days did not need a jacket during the day, light jacket or sweater in evening. Even got quite warm on some afternoons. Ate outdoors at both lunch and dinner when available. Very pleasant.

We usually travel in the last two weeks of October, and we've been to Florence several times in that period. In all those trips, we've experienced very little rain (really just one good downpour that lasted about 90 minutes and a couple of drizzly days). Mostly, it's been very pleasant with comfortable temps both day and night.
Can't speak to November weather...
