What is the weather like in August for Ireland, Scotland, Paris, The Netherlands, and Belgium?
We are leaving the middle of August on a vacation to Europe. I will be leaving temps in the high 80's to mid 90's. I have looked at the weather charts for these areas and they show low 50's to low 70's. Do you feel these charts are accurate? These temps are cool to me and if they hold true, I would need warmer clothes than I'm wearing now. Can someone please help me with what type clothes I should pack? I sure don't want to be cold while there or be dressed too warm. Thanks.......this is my first trip there and can use any info anyone has.

I can't help you with the other countries, but I have been to the UK, including Scotland, several times the end of Aug. and early Sept. the past few years. I think 70s might be about right for some of these places, but even in Inverness in early Sept. it didn't go as low as low 50 at night. On the coolest and most overcast days (and you'll find some overcast days in Scotland and Ireland), I was comfortable with a light sweater or an unlined all-weather jacket- it was probably at least 65 every day, sometimes warmer. On the coolest nights a cardigan or long-sleeved shirt with the afore-mentioned light jacket was sufficient. And on sunny days a short-sleeved T or long-sleeved woven cotton shirt was fine. When I was in Paris and Amsterdam in early August, it was quite pleasant - even a bit warm in Paris - so I can't imagine it would likely be too cool later in August. But I assume with all those destinations on your itinerary, you'll be there for several weeks, probably into Sept. Like any other trip in changing seasons, you should plan to layer if you get a cooler day.

The Netherlands & Belgium: generally unpredictable, but low 50's would be unseasonably cool (nighttime) and mid to high 70's will probably be average. If there's a heat wave - like we had 3 weeks ago - it could be in the mid- to high 80's and humid. Bring at least 1 hot-weather outfit including sandals, and a light sweater, long pants and socks in case it's cool...plus, alas, a raincoat, or at least an umbrella!
Right now it's 23C (73F) and last night it went down to 14C (57F)in the western part of the Netherlands. This is a bit cool for July.
