That's your opinion; sorry I don't share it.

The word choice "better" was wrong.

Together, both answers provide more information. Neither alone is superior.

Sorry.

Bob

Thank you very much for the infor. You have been very helpful. Kindly ignore Rex's rudeness.

Rex
For your information I had visited the website (english version)numerous times even before your suggestion.I had never been able to see a fare listed, which is the reason why I have posted this query for help from some kind soul.
Would be most glad if you could kindly indicate which section has the fare listed.

Serena

I beg your pardon. I was not rude.

But let's go through this one step at a time.

You say you know to click on the Union Jack from the main page at www.sncf.fr

Under "Planning you journey", it says "France and abroad" - - click there.

Next screen, click on "Booking and fares"

On the next screen you can leave it France. Click on the blue triangle for Validate.

Next screen, fill in Paris and Chatel Censoir in the appropriate boxes, indicate a preferred time of departure and select number of passengers (you must have at least one over 17). Click on choose time table.

Next screen. You will see choices of departure times and connections. The better connections are through Auxerre. Click on "Choice 1" or 2 or 3, etc.

Next screen. There is a pull-doen box that offers 1st class seat or 2nd class seat. Bob's answer is based on selecting 2nd class seat (per your request). Click on the blue triangle for validate.

Next screen. There is a pull-down for full fare or other discounts, if they apply to you. Click on the blue triangle for validate.

Here is your answer. Stop.

And that's as politely, and SERENEly as I know how to put it.

And I still say better to teach a man to fish.

My very best wishes,

Rex
