What does top mean?

I often see responses of top or topper or ttt... What in the world does it mean?

Carla,
Whenever someone responds to a thread or starts a new thread, it appears at the beginning or "top" of the list. When someone wants to bring a thread to people's attention, they can post a reply to the thread thereby brining it back up to the top of the list.

and Carla, it is a bad idea and should have a different format like chowhound. people can use different alias to keep their thread going or if they don't like some poster to perpetrate the insults. Some play the numbers game, who could get the most posters. The insulters never give the reason why they don't like someone, just accusations, they can't prove, others are on ego trips, it is all so sad at these times

I thought it was like- to the top- as in to have a previous post top the thread off.ttt to stop the thread of any new posters, like enough said.

Is it possible to read the lastest message of a long thread without scrolling down?

Or use Ctrl + End to go directly to the bottom. Make sure you click somewhere in the reply window first, or you'll go to the bottom of the list of threads.

Curious:
Yes it's possible. In fact, in the last forum re-organization they had this feature. Unfortunately the "new forum" failed and then everybody at Fodors got laid off and nothing was heard of it again. That going to the last thread feature was pretty neat. It saved a lot of time on those long threads.
