I have a very wide definition of "vacation." To me it means any day when I am not at my desk running my business, any day when I don't have to answer the phone, read my e-mail, be responsive to clients.
It might be a picnic in a local park or a three-week trip to Europe. It might be a long weekend in Montréal, such as I have just finished, or it might be a week-long ski trip to Colorado. It can be a few days at home pretending I'm not there to run the business by not answering the phone. It can be anything and everything as long as it means I am not required to WORK.
I love lying on beaches but better I like trolling them for nice shells. I love mountains and fountains and architecture and history and museums and music and food and markets and whatever a community of whatever kind has to offer. I want to explore new places. I love to speak other languages. I want to be someplace "other" - that's a vacation for me, being someplace "other."
