I'm in an office in New York with no windows, but reading about all of these lovely views makes me feel better about not having one (and I feel partially justified in poking around the internet on company time!)

The Hudson River....and good thing because working as an Environmental Engineer you'll need that reminder to keep you focus.

Dave West RULES! (Great thread!)

Ragged clouds go scudding by, captured from time to time by the 1000-ft-high red sandstone buttes that surround our ranch on three sides. It rained and turned to some snow during the night, leaving deer tracks across the slope below our house. There's a fire in the woodstove. Cedar smoke reminds us Christmas will be here soon.

From my 10th floor cubicle on Park Avenue in NYC, I have no windows. But from my boss's office there is a lovely view of the street, which is gorgeous at this time of day when the sun is going down and the Christmas lights and lights from other office buildings light up the street. From my apartment, I have a rather uninspiring view of the grocery store across the street, and because I live on the first floor, the blinds are pretty much always down to prevent any nasty surprises when changing my clothes.

Great thread!

Adeeba,
Some snow is coming our way tonight (Vermont), if *only* we could push it the thousands of miles to you!
I love snow, but the timing on this one is all wrong.
(We/I have a big holiday event scheduled for the students at our local school tomorrow, and I hope the snow does not close the schools.)

You are writing from Kuwait? How interesting!! I have been on this site only 7-8 months, but I do not recall many posters from the Middle East.
Yes ,please , send some warmth!
Nancy

Hello all. I am on the 2nd floor, in my apartment in Zagreb, Croatia. From my window I can see an apartment complex to the left and to the right there is a crossroad with streetlights and a stop for a tramway. If I get up and look to the right I can see lights on a big Christmas tree positioned at the lake just some 200 meters from my apartment. Although it's almost midnight here, it is still unusually warm, about 50F . I envy those of you who said they have snow. It looks like we're not heaving white Christmas his year.
Marry Christmas everybody!

Well, as Ms. Fowler pointed out, here in Chicago it is snowing again. But, from my window, I can see Oak Street beach covered in snow and snow accumulating on the iron crossings on the Hancock Building. From our office (16th floor), I can look down Michigan Avenue and see the millions of white lights in the trees. When the traffic lights change from red to green, it looks Christmasy (of course, I'm not out there driving)! I love snow and the holidays, so it's beautiful to me.

Back to work you slackers!! You think I don't know that you are surfing the web when you should be working? Think again? I have installed new surveillance software that enables me to track your internet usage and I can access your email!!! Using the internet for personal use while at work is STEALING!!!! So, get back to work before you all get fired!!!

it's night here in Georgia & I can see all the neighbors' Christmas decorations plus the picture of Bobby LaBonte scotch taped to the window. For you Europeans, he's the Michael Schumacher of the USA
Window? What's a window?! But if I get out of my cubicle and walk across the building, I can look across the street to a Thomas Cook currency exchange office. And if that isn't a tease to a would-be traveller stuck at work, I don't know what is.

I am on the east coast of Canada in Saint John, NB. My office window overlooks the Saint John harbour which empties into the Bay of Fundy. On a clear day (which is not today!!) I can see the outline of Nova Scotia in the distance. Right now it is clear and -10 C (14 F) after yesterday's rain and temperature of plus 10 C (50 F). We also have no snow on the ground either. Have a great day!!

I'm looking out over the Hong Kong Park on a sunny but relatively cool day watching all the brides emerge from the wedding registry to be photographed by the lake.

Well, unlike most people this morning I have no snow or rain! I am sitting in my study at home that overlooks Harrington Sound in Bermuda. It's a beautiful calm day, with barely a ripple on the water. I can see palm trees, wild hibiscus growing in abundance and several pretty white roofed houses, far away on the other side of the Sound. Sadly most of the boats are out of the water for their annual 'winter' recouperation!. This all sounds lovely doen't it, but I got awfully homesick for London when I read your message!!!

The view I have to look at is the same view as the first poster, the only trouble is that David West (the author)is sitting opposite me and he's not a pleasant sight, especially in the morning
