I'm sure Alla is comparable to DenRus, but what I liked about DenRus was their willingness to tailor my itinerary to what I wanted. I was traveling with an 8 and 7 year old so I was looking to have our trip two days be interesting for all of us.
We left the restaurant options in their hands, but that included a pre-planned meal at both places. If doing that trip again, I'd probably ask about other or more upscale food options.

Crusty,
do you know about Greeters?
SPB Greeters is a part of a Global Greeter Network:

I'm the greeter from St.Petersburg.
We all will be happy to show you sightseeings and uncommon spots of Saint-Petersburg.

Greeter, you are a little late. Crusty was asking 3 years ago, so your advertisement (which is not allowed here, by the way) isn't very appropriate. In fact, it's just as unwelcome as the one above yours advertising a hostel and claiming it has a roof deck, but their ad shows and lists no such bonus.

NP: Actually Greeter isn't really advertising - just linking to global greeters which is a 'people to people' type program
The old thread was topped by someone who was advertising . . . so Greeter likely didn't notice the dates
