We just got home from having a get-together with our younger friends and I'm sitting here wondering if we weren't out of place - I think I'm depressed with the continual news about the pope and all the questions that go through your mind about life and death and the terrible rifts there are between man - and wondering why they are caused by religion more than anything else. But I'm also reading and planning about Italy - and thinking how lucky we are to be able to travel and feel good at our age. And I'm wondering just how many people are on Fodor's right now and if they are researching trips or just lonely and hanging out - trying to feel like they belong somewhere. Hmm, maybe I drank too much wine tonight! I'm usually Miss Mary Sunshine! Tonight I am just an old thundercloud.

Just back from Atlanta in miserable traffic and weather, so number 3 son could engage in a game of Go with a sho-dan. A five hour car trip for an hour of Go, but he loves it.

just got home from eating pizza at our best friends. We haven't seen them in while. Their mom baked my husband a sour cherry pie. Such simple lovely things to make us happy and grateful.

Just unwinding by watching What Not To Wear and seeing what everyone is talking about here at Fodors. My dog Kiaya is curled up next to me, asleep. She is hoping I will get to bed soon, no doubt.

Worked all day and need to go in tomorrow too. I was looking forward to my day off Sunday until I realized that I will loose an hour of sleep. Church will come too early. "Fall-back is the time change of choice!

Other than Forum Surfing, I am packing for my trip to Amsterdam and London next week, and also working on our trip to Kerala, India and the Maldives for the winter...And other than that, our weather here in Canada is finally starting to warm up, so i have been cleaning windows and tidying up our yard..

I wish I was packing for a trip like some of you Fodorites. I did my one big trip for the year already. I went to Paris during the coldest week in March. But I had a good time. I'm just looking forward to my mini summber trip to Ottawa and Quebec City.

Watching the news regarding the Pope, I remember seeing him in the Pope mobile when I was young. His route pass my house then. Boy was that a long time ago.

Just chilling after a wondeful Easter weekend in Hermanus, Western Cape, South Africa. (Whales abound there in Sept,Oct, Nov, and there is a Whale festival). Magnificent cliff-top walks, mountain scenery with wild flowers everywhere. White beaches & azure blue water. Spotlessly clean town with virtually no crime. What a change from where we stay!

It was sunny and 66ºF in Saint-Aignan today. All the trees are budding out, and a lot of the fruit trees are in flower. It's gardening time...

Well, let's see. I have two things on the back of my mind all the time. Finishing off my last semester at law school (so preparing for 4 finals and 1 research (kind of) paper) and looking for job. However, the thing that's foremost on my mind is how do I accomplish these two things, finish school and find a job, so that I can travel again.

And yes, dreaming (hoping/planning) for trip to Italy in early September.

I am trying to get packed for my flight to Atlanta tomorrow, in between family visiting and watching a bit of CNN. Decided I better stop and get something to eat however.

A rainiy and terribly windy night in NYC. Ordered in a nice Porterhouse and some mariscada en salsa verde from our neighborhood Spanish restaurant, a bottle of '90 Chateau Lagrange in the decanter for 2 hours and an after-dinner Netflix DVD calles After The Sunset (Pierce Brosnan and Salma Hayek) loaded and waiting in my player.

billy_boy, wow, sounds like you're set for this stormy evening. Here in Central Jersey I had sloppy joe's and a bottle of syrah/cab.

You'll have to come to the NJ/NY GTG on 21 May and bring a bottle of '90 Chateau Lagrange with you. It will be a fun luncheon GTG. Details to follow next week.

My DH is watching the Michigan State game, I'm watching North by Northwest, and working on a watercolor in the our library/office.

Later we are going to watch a video on Ireland. Great night for watching T.V. as it's cold here in WI.
