What April Fool's joke did your Daily post today ?
Having read about the Prince Charles story and it's purported appropriateness (is there such a word ?) on a day like today, lets hear about how your local dailies around the world chose to dupe gullible readers.
Last year, ours in Toronto ran a hilarious story about how city council has set aside tens of thousnads of dollars to build special sidewalks for squirrels due to the high mortality rate and species endangerment of the NA black squirrel from traffic accidents. It was so seriously written that people were phoning in to opine on the matter and you wouldn't believe how many were in support of it !
This year, being a Friday and Movie review Day, a four-out-of-four-star rating and review (with pictures) appeared for a fantastic remake of 'Casablanca 2005' starring Ashton Kutcher, Paris Hilton and a piano playing Bernie Mac.
The performances apparently were fantastic, Oscar worthy perfections of the craft, and personally, I'm cancelling all plans for the weekend to go see this movie...
And you ?.....

I remember many years ago some news program showing a feature on the spaghetti harvest in Italy. They had spaghetti taped up in trees with the happy Italian peasants picking it.
Many people inquired about buying their own spaghetti tree.

Local paper printed the front page upside down. So-so cute, BUT...
Cigalechanta's post brought back a memory of an absolutely true incident that happened here about 10 yrs. ago. Two friends got into an argument which resulted in one killing the other. To avoid immediate detection, the man cut off the dead man's head and hands and discarded them miles apart. And left the man's driver's license in his pants pocket.

Mathieu, I love your Toronto stories (if there's that much sense of humor in T. I want to move there--you don't have any cold weather, do you?).
I was hoping to find a link on the net to the movie review, but I guess they are just saving it for Canadians.

LVSue: I hate to tell you this, but there is an awful lot of cold weather in Toronto...
But if you really want to see the "Casablanca" review, go to
www.thestar.com
You have to register, then go to movie reviews and it's the fourth or fifth item.
