Whaaaaaahhhh!!! Paris Notes is 'fini' !
Tears actually flowed upon reading my email notification that Paris Notes will no longer be in business - the July/August newsletter is their LAST!! Whaaaahhhhh!!! My oldest issue is from November 1998 - I love that newsletter.....

You have plenty of time to download available back issues of Paris Notes and other files offered.
I've always found Paris Notes to be somewhat "behind" with regard to exhibitions and other special events.
Those with months remaining on their subscriptions have been transferred to "France Today", which is also quite useful and informative, if not more so.

I didn't read it for 'current' events, but for the articles which built a more rounded comprehension of Paris' history and treasures. Delivered in small bites and enjoyed with my coffee in the morning.
I already get France Today, France and France (one from Britain, one from Washington). I'm still grieving over the loss of "This City Paris" magazine, although I see Claire Downey has turned it into a nice online blog.

The Paris Tourist Office has an online newsletter that is another resource.
To print the full newsletter, you need to open each chapter:

I used to subscribe to it for many years (when it was just print) and liked it a lot. I stopped some years ago, however, because it was just too expensive for what it was, that was all. I think the owner actually didn't have a very good business plan as he charged a fortune for this few-page newsletter and the cost (especially online) for additional subscribers would have been almost nothing. I never used it for current events, there wasn't any point to that as you can get them better and more recent online. But there were some good articles, and some were quite original topics.

Travelnut, like you I already subscribe to the available mags and miss This City Paris (thanks goodness for the blog). I will sorely miss Paris Notes. Since I subscribed some 12 years ago or so, it helped me feel so connected to my favorite city. It just seemed to have a personal touch. Oh well.....
