Westin Excelsior in Florence

Is this in a central location? I have enough starwood points to book it for free. It looks very pretty ...but looks kind of remote?

The Westin Excelsior is right on the banks of the Arno River, and we actually could see the Ponte Vecchio out of our window. It was just a short walk away. It's a great hotel with excellent, excellent service. The concierge was really helpful and picked out some great restaurants for us to eat at. I would definitely recommend it.

I stayed at the Excelsior last year. It's a beautiful hotel and not that far from the central tourist areas. It's certainly within walking distance. I'd definitely stay there again.

It's around 1/2 a mile to the Uffizi and maybe a bit further to the Duomo.

Hello, demmler67, I am another one that loves the Westin Excelsior and the location. Close walking distant to everything and if you get a room overlooking the Arno River (which is across the street from the hotel) you will have a beautiful view. How fortunate you are to have enough credits to book it for free. Enjoy, you will!

It's a great choice for Florence and a wonderful location - you can easily walk to almost anyplace.
