Wengen Or Lucerne in July?
Hi All,
I am visiting Switzerland for 4 days as part of my honeymoon. Current plan is to stay in a chalet in Wengen for 4 nights and leave for Zurich on 5th early morning to catch the flight back home.
I was wondering
1. If wengen offered enough to do for 4 days?
2. Would it be more romantic to stay in lucerne
3. Another option is to spend 2 day each in wengen and lucerne? Anyways since we have to go to zurich via lucenre we have to travel that far. So i may very well just take the luggage along with me on 3rd day and stay in Lucerne for 2 days!
Please help!

Do you like to hike? If so there is plenty in Wengen to keep you busy for 4 days. It is gorgeous, and there are many wonderful trails in the area. Personally, I'd stay there the whole time, although Lucerne is nice too.

Have you checked the timing to get to the Zurich airport on the 5th day from both Wengen and Lucerne? Taking the train or driving? Wengen will take a while (3 hours).
I don't think you should divide up your stay. You'll "lose" 1/2 a day just traveling between the two and getting settled in your new hotel. It takes approximately 3 hours to get from Wengen to Lucerne. Also takes 3 hours to get to Zurich airport from Wengen.
You can knock off 30-45 minutes on your trip to the airport if you stay in Interlaken instead of Wengen. It will be busy in July, but you can get to all the mountain sights in the Berner Oberland from there, as it's also in the Berner Oberland. Do a day trip to Wengen.

Where to stay depends on what you want to do. If you really want to hike from a small village Wengen is the answer.
If you want to a larger town with more dining and shopping, to take boat trips in the lake and ascend some of the other mountains, better to see Jungfrau from Wengen and then see more things from Lucerne.
(We aren't hikers - so we stay in larger towns with a car so we can tour around based on weather - and frankly, small towns start to make me nervous after a while - not enough variety.)

Thanks for the quick replies!
Yes I do not need to go through Lucerne, what I meant was that Zurich is closer from Lucerne. So does it make sense to stay for 2 days in Wengen and then leave for Wengen.
Yes we may do some hiking but not a lot i guess, idea is to relax and enjoy nature on honeymoon!
I understand I will loose 1/2 day in changing hotel but I will have anyways travel 3 hours to zurich. And also I wanted to visit Lucerne. Do you think I can have the lucerne lake experience at Wengen through day trips?
Thanks a lot the tips guys.

Thanks for the replies. I am trying to add an extra day to make it 2 in wengen and 2 in lucerne. Given that i will have almost ~4 full days. I am planning to visit Jungf + Mt Pilatus. or Mt titlis + ??
Is there any other good mountain around Wengen? Diiferent from Mt titlis ie not a ice glacier summit. The only reason why I may choose tilis over Jungf is that I feel Jungf may be too costly and both offer similar experience. Please let me know if you differ.
Also side question if i have swiaa pass how much will the Mt Titlis trip cost from Lucerne?
