If you get the time to visit Stockport then there is an Indian restaurant in Cheadle which is well known for its Indian street food and other dishes. Its name is Aamchi Mumbai. You can go there to have authentic taste of Indian dishes.

Benares. Great menu. Innovative. A Michelin star. Not that expensive if you use one of the online offers on Bookatable or Opentable. Failing that Brick Lane has a ton of cheaper eats and is fun in a kitsch sort of way - big screens up in some of the restaurants showing Bollywood films, cocktails with an indian twist (ie lots of lemongrass and ginger in evidence).
