Wedding in Doolin- Need Accommodations Advice!

I have been invited to a June wedding in Doolin, Ireland. The internet has a zillion listings for accommodations but I'd love some advice (last time I booked a B&B only by looking at their website the results were dreadful).
We'd prefer to stay in town if possible, somewhere that allows smoking in the rooms (no heckling please).

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Marlena
NYC

Sounds like a fun place for a wedding --and the best music in Ireland. We enjoyed the Aran View House (gee, I hope that's right), a fair sized inn on the hill and a short walk down the road into town. We had a great room in the former "stables" but not sure about smoking. It's a wonderful place.

Marlena

I have heard VERY good things about the Sea View house. You can find them on the Town and Country website. We were going to stay there, but they were full. The view is spectacular from there and it is an easy walk to the pubs....though a bit of a climb on the way back.

Once again, not to sure about the smoking. It is very common to not allow smoking in B&Bs in Ireland.

Town & Country site is: http://www.commerce.ie/towns_and_country/ I've always had good luck with them.

Good luck!

Bill

We also tried the SeaView House but they were full and they eccommended another place closer to restaurants etc actually across the street. Caan't think of its name but it had remains of castle in the back yard. Reasonable and friendly owners--not sure about smoking? Little town we stayed only one night out of 2 weeks but remember it well. Had a delicious dinner and great evening in one of the pubs there! My family of four (two kids in early 20's) remember it as some of the best of Ireland!! Have fun!

I stayed at Doolin cottage last June and it was very comfortable, affordable and smack dab in the middle of the village. You can find it on celtica.com. Don't know about the smoking, but if you get the room upstairs you can smoke out the window. It is not luxuury, but the hostess is very nice and it is clean. Enjoy, but I'll be there before you, going in March.
