websites for the UK
I am looking to put a list together of websites for London and the rest of the UK.

I am planning a trip for the next year sometime and would like to start researching it. I know that we will go to London but haven't decided where else to go in the UK so any and all websites would be welcomed so that I could research them and see what appeals to us.

Thanks for any and all help.
Hi- There are lots of sites you will find out. One of my favorites is
http://home.about.com/aboutuk/index.htm?PM=59_3201_T
Great regional information, useful forums, current events for the whole of UK , something for everyone.
www.visitbritain.com , www.londontown.com ,www.travelscotland.co.uk ,www.english-heritage.org.uk ,www.londontransport.co.uk , are some others that maybe helpful. www.nationaltrust.org.uk , for the national trust.

Here are a few that I used often to plan and get ready for my trip last May, though most of them were specifically for London:

www.rail.co.uk
Great site to look at time tables for most cities in the UK
www.thetrainline.com also does the same thing and includes prices as well, though I found this site slow-moving and not operating all the time (maybe it's just my software)

www.thisislondon.co.uk
Daily news, weather, entertainment pages, plus a visitor's page with lots of links to tourist sites, museums, etc.

www.timeout.com/london
THE entertainment/dining guide for London

www.ticketmaster.co.uk
Current shows, prices, schedules, seating charts.

Hope some of these help.
