Website that tells the Italian name of railway stations?
Hi Fodorites
Does anyone know of a website that I can use to make sure I've got the right names of train stations for using on trenitalia bookings?
I need to figure out the proper names of the following places:
Lucca (am assuming no name change) - coming from Venice Maestre and staying at Via Streghi.
La Spezia - can find at least 2 different stations. I'm after the station that a) will be the best connection for then getting to Manarola and b) getting from La Spezia to Milan (centre city area)
Milan Malpensa Airport - I'm planning on catching a train to Milan Malpensa but can't see a logical station name on the trenitalia website.
If anyone could point me to a website that can help me work this out, I'd really appreciate it.
Cheers

Venezia Mestre is the mainland train station near Venice. Venezia SL (Santa Lucia) is the train staion on the island.
The station in Lucca is called Lucca.
Chances are you will want the main train station in La Spezia (La Spezia Centrale)
Similarly, your train from Cinque Terre will probably arrive at the main MIlan train station, Milano Centrale.
There are trains from both MIlano Centrale and MIlano Cadorna to Malpensa Aeroporto. There is also an express bus from MIlano Centrale to Malpensa.

If you search your various routes (Venice to Lucca, Lucca to Manarola, etc.) at http://www.fsitaliane.it/homepage_en.html
the results will tell you the name of the connecting stations.
But, anyway...
There is only one station at Lucca. Coming from Venice, you'll change trains at Firenze Santa Maria Novella.
Lucca to Manarola involves a change at La Spezia Centrale. If you're then going from Manarola to Milan, you would change at Levanto or Sestri. Or is there some reason you're returning to La Spezia?
You can use the same link above to search for the train from Milan to Malpensa. Type in from 'Milano Nord Cadorna' and to 'Malpensa Aeroporto.' The Milano Cadorna station is NOT the same station where you will arrive from Manarola (or La Spezia). This train is operated by a different train company.

For others' information who also might need some names:
Florence = Firenze SMN (Santa Maria Novella) is the central train train station, nearest the historic center where tourists are likely to go.
Rome = Roma Termini is the central train station, also nearest the historic sights.

ellenem is correct that there are trains from Milano Centrale to Malpensa. I'd forgotten about this fairly new service.
If you're spending the night in Milan, check a map to see which train station is closer to your hotel. The Cadorna station is small and easy to navigate. The Centrale station is huge.

Trenitalia lists all their stations on the website. CLick on a region on the left and then select servizi in stazione.
