we are renting an apt in Spain- silly ???
Since we are renting an apt in Spain for a decent price (83 eu) how do we get our keys? Is there a 'check in ' point to go to?? A hotel is easy- walk in check in. But an apt- what is the procedure?? Are the keys under the mat?? lol

There is no one procedure everyone adheres to, or a rule. YOu have to ask the company or person you are renting it from. I always check those issues before I rent a place, to make sure it is agreeable to me.

We leave for Spain in two weeks and will stay our first 3 nights in an apt. in Barcelona. When I booked it (on-line), they sent me a confirmation with the arrival procedure. Basically if I arrive within a certain time-frame (9am-8pm Mon-Fr)I go to their office. Any other times, they gave me a phone number to call 1/2 hour before we arrive. We have rented a 3 bed./2 bath apt. for a total of $445 euros. We are two couples so I didn't think it was too bad - works out to about 75 euros each couple a night.

If you are renting from an agency (common procedure in Spain), the usual practice is go to the agent's office, pay the balance and deposit (if applicable) and pick up the key.
But they should be able to tell you.
If you are doing this privately, you agree your arrival time and the owner (or their neighbour/agent) meets you at the property.
