waterfront hotel help Nice France

Anyone know anything about the hotels below? We want to be able to take the tram from the train station and get to our hotel with our luggage. We also want to ride to bus out of the city. It is hard to tell how much of a walk these places are from the tram line and the bus station. We are two retired women. We want to stay someplace nice but not break the bank!

Mercure Nice Marche aux Fleurs
Hotel Suisse
Four Points Sheridan
Le Royal

The hotels line up from west to east along the prominade as follows: Four points, Le Royal, Mercure, and Suisse. All four are about a mile from Gare Nice Ville-- the main train station. But the Mercure and the Suisse are about 1/4 mile walk from Gare Routiere-- the main bus station.

Travel light with good wheels on your luggage...

I stayed in the Hotel Suisse but it was almost nine years ago before its renovation - I found it a very convenient location and walked to the main Gare as well as the smaller one a couple of blocks further where I took the Train des Pignes - also walked to the bus station. I flew in and out, took a bus from the airport, and walked from the bus stop near Jardin Albert 1er to the hotel with my wheeled suitcase....

My vote goes to the Mercure Promenade des Anglais, which offers senior rates (you have to ask for them). The hotel is right across the Promenade from the sea, close to both Vieux Nice and the pedestrian zone. There are a number of cafés nearby where you can have breakfast if you don't want the buffet one at the hotel (which is, like all hotel breakfasts, pricey--but you do get a lot).

I meant to add that the Mercure is about a 3-block walk from the tram station at the Place Masséna.
