Warning-Paris

Just got my Delta FF flyer tickets to Paris for next April and I'll be asking a ton of questions I'm sure. I apologize in advance!!
I asked for Supersaver tickets "anywhere in Europe in April" and very unexpectantly got Paris. Haven't been there since '61!!

Curious minds want to know -- how much did they cost that far in advance? We will be there in October, why not in the Spring?

I don't know anything about SkyMiles - do Supersaver tickets cost fewer points than specific destinations?

I have a Delta FF account, although I haven't used it in a long time and somehow can never cash them in, even though I have enough miles. I'm saving them for RT to Buenos Aires.

But .. I've never heard of anything called Supersaver tickets for FF miles. I've heard of Skysaver, which are less miles than Skychoice, but not that much of a bargain. They are just the same miles as most airlines require (50K RT Us/Europe), but the only difference is that if you use Skychoice, there are no blackout dates. Skysaver, as most programs, has blackout dates. Skychoice requires twice as many miles, though (100K).

Christina is right--they are Skysaver tickets and use fewer miles than Skychoice.
My "Delta" tickets use Delta, Air France and Continental flights but very good flights! Gulfport Atlanta Paris and Paris Houston Gulfport

Christina,
Check your account. DL changed the rules and I think you need SOME activity every two years to keep the account active. (Activity can be lots of things doesn't have to be flight!)

Paris hasn't changed a bit since 1961.

Just get a good guidebook and watch some recent travel videos to help you formulate some questions. There's tons of threads on this forum about every aspect of Paris, so try to do some searching here as well.

As I recall there was unrest in Paris in the summer of 61. Algerian Freedom Fighters? Graffiti, sirens

I go to Paris every year. this december i had an apartment for a week and have discovered it is the only way to go! less than a hotel and you and your friends can share the cost. our living room window looked right out on the Eiffel Tower!

yeah, I know I have to be careful about letting miles expire, as they almost have for me on a couple. I haven't flown Delta in many years, but kept it active by flying Air France which is a partner. I meant I haven't actually used the miles in a long time (or ever, as I recall, the few times I tried to use them, they wouldn't give me seats). Now I have a Delta Amex card so it is no problem. They gave me a bunch of miles for getting it, and it's free for a year before the Amex fee kicks in, so I figured why not -- I plan to cancel it after a year.
