Walking tour company recommendations

Planning a walking tour in the UK and I’m looking for recommendations for tour companies who set up self guided walks. Looking a walking the Cleveland Way, taking 10 to 12 days to complete the walk and I want someone to make all the advance reservations.

I’ve done quite a bit of long distance walking in the UK and tried using a company to do as you request once, to see if it was better than doing it myself. It wasn’t so I’ve gone back to doing it myself, perfectly simple, or maybe simple if it isn’t your first time at it. I understand if it is your first, a good way to see how it goes, then maybe on your own next time. I suggest if you haven’t done this before to request fewer miles a day than you figure you can do, much better to arrive each afternoon still fresh than the alternative.

The company was Contours and for the most part they did a good job. One of the accommodations was dire but otherwise I’d recommend them. They gave me exactly what I asked for, miles per day, etc. https://www.contours.co.uk

Backroads is very good, and I think National Geographic which IMO is one of the best although they can be expensive is now offering walking tours

Those 2, I believe, would have set itineraries for small groups, as opposed to the self-guided custom-paced walk the full length of the Cleveland Way the OP is asking about. There are several companies in the UK that specialize in just that, Countours being one that’s been around for some time. If I didn’t find the planning of my walks fun, I’d go with them again. All the B&Bs they booked for me except the one I mentioned were great and I survived that one just fine.
