Walking in the Paris rain

A lot of people here ask if it is worth coming to Paris in November or other dubious months. I would just like to point out that Paris is very atmospheric at any time of year and in any part of the city. I don't know if this link will prove it to you, but today I took a walk about as far from any tourist site as you can get in Paris, and I had a lovely time.

Great pictures Kerouac. That's definitely an area I'd like to explore on my next visit. By the way, what kind of camera are you using. Nice work. Thanks.

Ah-h-h, Kerouac. That was just so lovely. Thank you for a peaceful pick-me-up to an otherwise stressful day. It seems that Paris is even more atmospheric when viewed from hidden corners on a rainy day.

Lovely pictures as always, Kerouac -- but we are wondering how our cat, Picasso, got from Nashville, TN, to Paris this afternoon -- and back!

Lovely. I've got some pictures of the beautiful foliage along the Marne in my town that I should post. But you know me, it never rains where I am so you'll only see bright blue skies in the background!

Dear Kerouac,

Just returned yesterday from a 10 day stay in Paris. Enjoyed every minute even the final 3 rainy days which just made Paris more romantic.

Seems I never get to Paris for the perfect spring weather - tend to go in November or March when it can be cold and wet but that means the museums and restaurants are not so crowded. I was lucky to have almost springlike weather last weekend and I walked and walked until my feet could go no further.

Thanks for the photos...I am definitely in a bit of withdrawal and needed this small fix.

Cannot access the link here at work (blocked..not your fault and will try at home later) but wanted to thank you in advance for doing it all since I am sure the pictures are the usual memorable ones.

Cheers, as always.

kerouac...the subject of this thread, your photos, and your message speaks directly to my heart. it's paris, and i quite like my gray, and rainy times there. one of my favorite times in fact it was frigid cold, and the entire city was covered in a layer of ice and snow.

We spent a day in Belleville last month and it was one of the highlights of our trip. We loved the colours in Parcs Belleville and Buttes Chaumont and really enjoyed wandering the streets around La Mouzaia. Rue Desnoyers was also fantastic to see.

Thanks for sharing these beautiful pictures.

Not all tourists limit their wanderings to the usual sights. We didn't go near the Eiffel Tower this time and the only museum we saw was the Erotic Museum in Montmartre which was, um, very interesting!

Here's a link to my blog for anyone who has lots of time on their hands, lol:

Love the pics you posted and just sets me in the mood for my trip in a month. Will deal with the weather, good, bad Paris is still a place to just roam and relax.

kerouac - thank you for making my morning brighter. You have grasped the essence of non-touristic Paris in a wonderful series of images. It proves to me that a positive attitude can serve as an eye for beauty in nearly all circumstances. We see what we want to see.

Thank you very much, Kerouac.
So beautiful pictures!
The autumn is my preferred season. Here, in Israel , where I live, it is not the same like in Europe, we do not have tons of yellow leaves. So the pictures brought me the pleasant memories of autumn.
