walking in andalucia
I am planning a week vacation in andalucia.(flying from UK to seville via ryanair, mid may) We don't like to move around a lot so we will split our time between Seville (stay in apt no car) and a self-catering place in the countryside (rent a car for 3 days). I am inclined to rent a place in the white villages (around Grazamela? or Ronda). But was wondering about Is anyone familiar with this area in the Sierra de Aracena? The website is http://www.fincabuenvino.com/house.html mentioned on the website.
Thoughts from the experts? (I have spent a day reading postings so get some of the differences but would prefer a direct comparison). Love walking, authentic villages, not lots of tourists.. thanks. couldn't plan my vacations without all of you!

This may be the place you are looking for. Have not direct experience (yet), but have friends there, and I know south of Badajoz (nearby). The finca really looks great, ten mins. from Aracena town. Take a look at http://www.sierradearacena.net/ for general info, and http://www.andalucia.org/modulos.php...vegacion=atlas on trekking routes.

We just got back from a great vacation in Spain. From Sevilla, we went to an organic farm called Cinco Lunas near Zahara de la Sierra. Here is the link: www.cincolunas.com
The owners, Gonzalo and Aniya, are incredible. They have a kitchen which is available for your use, and they are familiar with the countryside and can give you great ideas for walks.
This was a magical experience for us. We walked to Zahara de la Sierra one day (steep climb but not a long distance) and Algodonales the other. It was peaceful, especially coming from Sevilla during Semana Santa. I highly recommend it.
Also, we loved Grazalema, though we only stayed there one night. It was a really nice town, very friendly people.
