Vote: Tuscany or Amalfi Coast?
The scoop:
I've never been to Italy before, but will be there this August/Sept. for about 10 days. I've read so many great things about both Tuscany & the Amalfi Coast that I'm not sure which to focus on (or whether to try both!)

The question:
If you had 10 days in Italy, where would you spend it? Tuscany, the Amalfi Coast, or some combination? (BTW, I'm big on good food in case that factors into the equation here).

Thanks for the responses!

/James

For food, I'd pick Amalfi any time! But Tuscany would be calling my name the whole time I was there. You've got a tough decision--they're both great.

Hello James,

I think you can see the best of the Amalfi coast and nearby attractions e.g. Pompei, Capri in 5 days. So I'd do both if I were you!

James -- We're going to Italy for 10 days in Aug/Sept too. My priority was to see the Amalfi coast and my friend really wanted to see Tuscany, so we're doing both (flying in and out of Rome). You may want to start making reservations as soon as possible -- a lot of places are already getting booked up.
