Hi all. Last summer I bought a pre-paid Vodafone in Ireland (triband). My daughter is going to Paris next week and will be using the phone. I want to make sure there are no problems with it when she lands, so does anyone know if there is a Vodafone store in CDG or where one is located in Paris?

I don't know, perhaps there is a problem with the phone or the connection when she arrives. Yes, it is set up for passport. It is acting kind of flaky here in the U.S., but it is accessing through T-Mobile.

No need to worry, the card is still active. Maybe just recharge some money now, she won't have a problem.

Ok, back to my original question...now that I learned that Vodafone is SFR in France, does anyone know the location of an SFR kiosk or store in either CDG or Paris?

Do you want her to be able to purchase top-up cards? I found them for my Virgin phone at any tabac. I recently learned on this forum that there's a Virgin phone store at CDG--don't know about Vodafone and if it's in a different terminal than where she lands, I think she should just head into Paris.

Remember your Irish Vodafone handset is locked to Irish Vodafone SIM, so she can only roam in France paying higher than usual roaming rates (though they are now capped within EU - 55 euro cents/min to phone within EU, 1.19 euro to US and 25 euro cents/min to receive). Also she will need a plug adaptor for her charger.
She can top up by buying SFR top-up card, or online.

Hi all, not worried about the top up, have already done all that. I was just wondering if anyone knew of a convenient shop in case she needed it. The phone was working fine in Florida, when she took it to NY and we tried it out it started acting up. I could call in with no problem, but it did not want to call out. Since she is leaving in 2 days, I figured she could test it at CDG when she arrives. If it works great, if not then a SFR/Vodafone place can fix it.

SFR/Vodafone in France and Vodafone in Ireland are two different local companies. All they can do is to sell a new SIM and you don't need Vodafone for that, do you?. CDG is a mess in every respect, she would want to get downtown quick. Passport rates are the same in every country where you roam with passport and different from "EU maximum rates".
