vnice budget-ish hotels
Can anyone recommend nice/decent hotels in Venice that cost under $150? (under $100 would be even better!)
I really wanted to stay in a charming "venetian" looking hotel, but I see those are all quite pricy.
I am looking to stay within a 10 minute walk of the ghetto area.

Check out Casa Martini in Canareggio, which is the area the ghetto is in (the hotel is very close). Charming, small, friendly, Venetian atmosphere, owners are lovely and helpful. Paid $124 a year and a half ago, so prices may be higher than your range by now, but check them out:

I think you'll have to email for the current prices, but they responded fast to our questions. Great place, and they will send you to some out of the way locals' restaurants if you ask.

I am booked there in May: 85 euro for a double with ensuite bath. I haven't stayed there before but it came highly recommended. Not luxury, just clean and charming.
