Hi aocmand,
Are you talking about the outdoor market in Campo Dei Fiori, right off of Vittoriro Emmanule? That is the only one I can think of and yes you can buy fruit there and more, it's a great outdoor market.
Pretty sure it's held Mon thru Sat. from about 8 to 1 or 2. Might be only Mon. to Fri.

It's a wonderful market. I have lots of pics if you are [email protected]
It truly is Different! Where else could you buy song birds for Spiedino uccelli scappati! They have their ways ..we have ours.
I happen to love markets..if you are only interested in buying some fruit..maybe it wouldn't be that fascinating., but to me it was a definite highlight!

If they are not one and the same can you clue me in on the "Vittorio Emmanual Market"? I'd love to know more or maybe you can dirrect me to where you got your info so I can investigate.
Thanks!
Eileen

We are talking about 2 differnet markets here! Campo de Fiore, there are lots of posts on that.
Then there was a market at Pza, V Emmanule, near St Maria Maggiore..it has moved in the last few years and is now all enclosed in a building but it is not that far from the former venue. Just follow the people with shopping carts! We had to ask at the TI booth beside the church!
There is also another one , just across the bridge near Pza del Popolo on the way to the Vatican.Sorry I can't remember the name

Being a Market Freak..you might want to try one of these! We've done just about all of them!

But they still don't list the one just over the Pza. del Popolo bridge!
