Planning to visit Zurich and Interlaken. Got a detailed email from Interlaken visitor center how a day can be spent there.

I will be flying into Geneva and will head to Zurich next morning. Spend all day in Zurich.

Next morning to Interlaken and back to Geneva/Zurich

Any suggestions?

Sans doubt, head for the hills partner! Hop the toylike train from Interlaken-Ost (East) station to Grindelwald (25 mins) and drink up the intoxicating panoramas, do some hiking, take a cable car to Mannlichen for its raved about views, descend from it to Wengen to see the Lauterbrunnen valley and Lauterbrunnen for a 20-min train ride back to Interlaken. Quel jour!
There are other possibility once up in the hills but with only one day in Interlaken go to the hills...it doesn't matter what you do there - the essence of the Swiss Alps...cow bells tinkling in the distance...the glacier-girdled Jungfrau Massif rising some 10,000 practically straight up across the way.

Not sure do I stiil have to reserve tickets as that is in addition to passes.

Can you get on trains without reservation and just pass and still find a seat? Our trips will short from Geneva to Zurich to Interlaken to Geneva.

April can be rainy, snowy, foggy or sunny.

Switzerland is about mountains and culture. Skip Zürich and stay in the Berner Oberland area or stay in Zermatt. You really don't have time to do Zürich and experience our mountains.

By the way, seat reservations are NOT needed, especially in April.

Sounds as though you will not have much time in Interlaken area.

Here is what I'd do if I only had a few days in the Interlaken area.

And, AND since it will be April, you did say April??? There could be snow or prolly should be snow all about, particularlly in the higher elevations.

So, that being said, hop on the train and ride that train up to Kleine Schediegg. From KS, you'll see a great view of Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau, assuming of course that you and your party catch a clear day.

To me, that view there is a great view. KS can be full of tourists though since it is a stopping off point for the Jungfrau excursion.

Anyway, if the weather is nice, there should be some cool outdoor places open to have lunch, sip a nice drink or two and dig the local mountain scene.

I enjoy hanging out there for an hour or so after a nice hike.

Anyway, that excursion is the easiest and best view of the mountains without geting too detailed in a hike.

Again, I'm guesing that KS is open for bidness in April. Never have been to this area that early

With only two days, stay in one place. Otherwise, you're spending too much time training, unpacking, packing and training again.
