Visiting Olympic Park
Does anyone know if viewing Olympic Park is possible? I'll be in London next week and I thought it'd be cool to check it out. Originally I heard that I could visit the view tube, but according to the website it closes May 17 and I don't arrive in London until May 20.
Suggestions welcome.
Thanks!

When the athletes are there for the games security will be extremely strict and I doubt anyone without official credentials would be allowed in. As for now, you can check but I would be surprised if anyone is let in until after the games.

We took the Jubilee line to Stratford, went into the new mall and to the John Lewis department store, third floor by the childrens dept is a huge room full of everything 2012 Olympics and the viewing area of the site. I must say they still have a lot to do and how all those people are going to get to the events on the transportation system in London is a big question I have.

The Olympic Park is now closed, and the Viewtube closes May 17.
Commercially organised walks take punters round Stratford, including a tour of the Westfield shopping mall. They will not include access to the Park till after Sept 30.
I'm sure the walks are still interesting, but the only substantial viewing of the Park is from the Westfield John Lewis - which is perfectly easily accessible by tube from central London if you don't want to pay someone to tell you about industrialisation and reclamation.
The tube station is about 40 mins from most of the centre. During the Games, the tube system will be supplemented by an HST every 5 mins from St Pancras. taking 7 mins.
