Visiting Linderhof Castle

Is this a good choice for someone with slight mobility problems?
Wondering if it is a long, steep walk from parking lot to castle. In photos I've seen, it looks more accessible both inside and out than some of the Rhine castles, for instance.

Linderhof is fairly level. There are some areas in the garden and house with stairs, but most can, I think, be seen without difficulty. Linderhof isn't really a castle; it's more of an elaborate mansion.

Walking from the parking lot to the castle isn't steep, but it is a bit of a walk if I remember correctly. Once on the grounds, if you want to walk up to the gazebo, there is a path that is a bit long and somewhat steep which might not be very good for someone with mobility issues.

Try this: Click on the link below and then zoom in as far as it will let you. Look above the spot that is marked and you'll make out the parking lot and the grounds. This aerial shot may give you an idea of how far it is to walk. I don't remember how long it took us, but it is nothing like walking to Neuschwanstein.

The walk is easy. At Neuschwanstein you can opt to ride a horse carrige up the hill for an extra fee.

I should that once you get inside Neuschwanstein you will encounter some stairs. IMO, Linderhof is a more elegant castle once you get inside.

Once inside the palace, the whole tour is on the second floor. I think that there is an elevator but I can't say for sure that there is one.
