Visiting Greece in October!

Need input. We plan to fly or ferry to Athens from Southern Italy about Oct.20th for 3 days & then fly or ferry to Santorini for 4-5 days. Our first visit to Greece - any suggestions as to moderate priced hotels & weather-wise in Athens & Santorini in late October? Thanks.

Hi --

Try the Attalos hotel in the Plaka/Athens. About 62E a night without breakfast. Ask for a room in the back/upper floor with a view of the Acropolis. They have a nice Web page & u can book on line. I had to cancel a trip this year & they were really nice when I cancelled. Late October weather is rather hit or miss/that is it may be chilly or beautiful, very unpredictable. However, Greece is wonderful anytime of year. Have a Great Trip. PS I agreed with the last poster. Put Athens Hotel in text search & you'll get specific results.

By Late October Santorini is going to be chilly in the evenings and most likey windy. If it's too windy the ferry boats won't be running. There's no way to predict.

The village of Oia is the most beautiful village on the island.

Contact Markos Karvounis at Karvounis Tours in Oia for assistance with accomodations.

The Attalos Hotel in Athens is a good mid-range hotel with a great view of the Acropolis and the Parthenon from the rooftop lounge.

I missed your request re Athens, I recommend the Arethusa hotel, nice people, right on Syntagma Square and five minutes walk into the Plaka, I enjoyed it there immensely. And it's a reasonable rate, they also have a website. www.arethusahotel.gr
Breakfast is included
