visiting family in Frankfurt, Germany

We are a family of 5 that will be visiting family in Frankfurt, Germany in May and would like some input on 2-3 day trips with Frankfurt as our starting hub. We are interested in visiting Poland, Paris, and Belgium. Any suggestions on what to see and do while in these countries?

Do you really want to go as far as Poland, Paris, and Belgium? The Rhine Valley and the Mosel Valley are very nice. The Romantic Road isn't far and the area between Heidelberg and Rothenburg ob der Tauber are nice and easy to visit.

Poland, Paris, and Belgium are way too far to go for day trips.

Good advice from JoeE. Also consider Wuerzburg and Bamberg. Easy drives or train rides from Frankfurt.

Also consider a drive into the former East Germany... places like Gothe, Erfurt, Suhl are interesting.

Just to make the distances a little bit easier to grasp:
My German equivalent to mapquest says itīs 6 hours driving time to Paris. Trains will take between 5 1/2 and 6 1/2 hours.
From Frankfurt to Brussels itīs something like 4 hours of driving, trains take 3 3/4 hours.

If youīd like to visit another country: How about visiting the French city of Strasbourg in the Alsace area? 2 1/2 hours drive time - or 2 to 3 hours on the train. Take a look here:

Bringing your message back up "to the top" (even though none of the replies is very flattering, exactly)... since you are very new here - - (want to know how I know that? click on your own name) - - brings up any and all of your previous posts, including your ("mistake&quot repeat of this same question posted again tonight (in which you accidentally put in your name where the message header is supposed to go).

Best wishes,

Rex

Can't tell if you have seen the advice (on your other post) to click on your own name, as it appears that you have not acknowledged any of the replies here.
