Villa Ulivo, Villa Renatta, Casalmare

Has anyone ever stayed in any of these villas? I can't find any reviews on them (just one actually). V. Ulivo is in Portofino; looks to be built right into mountainside. Says it has good views, but the pictures don't show any which makes me wonder. Renatta is 3 km outside Rapallo. We'd prefer to be in a town instead of a couple miles outside, but this seems nice. Casalmare -- seems really nice, but I'm the crazy snake lady who posted previously on this message board about this place possibly having snakes on the property. Here are links to all 3 if anyone's interested in offering feedback. Grazie!

I believe Casalmare has been reviewed on www.slowtrav.com. I considered this house until part of our group decided not to go with us. We ended up with something smaller. I wouldn't be too concerned about the snake thing. I've never seen one in Italy even in villas in rural areas.

Thanks, Granbury. Just checked out that review. I'm just surprised I can't find more b/c it's booked throughout the summer! Did you visit or stay in Levanto? Is it a nice town?

BarbMH - Our trip is not until this June. I have not visited Levanto yet, but have had many good recommendations on it. We are staying in Lerici because we wanted a beachfront place. Casalmare has that advantage, but was just too big for us. If our group was bigger, I would asbsolutely go with
Casalmare. Have a good trip.

On the website for Italy-Villa. There are several rental agencies that have Casalmare in their listing, but only this one has this particular review. Other than this review, I saw two reviews of the house that were very positive.

Go to this link and scroll all the way down. The review is in a long narrow column on the left.
