Villa Montartino in Florence

We will be in Florence during Easter week. We have been there twice before and absolutely love it. We usually stay at the Lungarno but this time we're taking our children and it is incredibly expensive to book it for the four of us. So, we chose a completely different idea...we're booked at Villa Montartino on the outskirts of Florence. It looks fabulous and has great reviews on Travel Advisor plus it's in Karen Brown's Italy book. But it would be great to hear from anyone who's actually stayed there. From what I understand it's only 3 km. from the Ponte Vecchio so it's not far away from the center of things but it feels like you're far away since it's in the hills. Also, I understand you can take a bus into the center of Florence, making it less expensive than taking cabs back and forth. Has anyone stayed there or know any more details about the place? They do have a pool but apparently they don't open it until April 1 and we're leaving March 29th.
